Core work in pregnancy and postpartum is different. As your baby grows, your abdominal wall separates to make room for your baby. Post-partum, this area takes some time to come back together. "Traditional" crunches and planks will not serve your body well during this time and could lead to diastasis recti (sometimes referred to as a mommy belly) That doesn't mean that core exercises aren't good for you during this time.
