What’s your personal motto?
“You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.”

What brought you to Haumea?
I’m pretty sure fate brought me to Haumea, but it started with a conversation with Megan before yoga on a Sunday night. I hadn’t been to yoga in months. When we chatted I asked her about vacations this year, and she had she mostly likely wouldn’t be taking one because she was starting Haumea! I was floored when she told me about the vision for Haumea because I had been asking the universe for a bit more direction with the career shift I was undertaking. I was looking to start teaching and working with more families, specifically to support breastfeeding. Megan didn’t know that I did all of these things, and it just bloomed from there. I love how open Megan and Kristin have been in growing Haumea.

What is your favorite memory of your mom?
My favorite memories of my mom were not my favorite when I was a kid. She worked as a server at Pizza Hut in Sun Prairie and she knew EVERYBODY in town. We couldn’t go anywhere without her having several conversations. Her favorite places to shop were thrift stores. I HATED thrift stores — I just saw junk, and was embarrassed to wear second-hand clothes. Now, my kids are always complaining that I talk to everyone everywhere we go! I absolutely love thrift shopping and most of our clothes are second-hand. If you want to find me on my day off, head over to St. Vinny’s. I’ll probably strike up a conversation!
